Picking the right genre for your situation
One thing I've learned reviewing across genres is that the right game depends entirely on when and where you're playing. There's no single best mobile game, only the best one for your current situation.
For short, interruptible moments, casual and puzzle games win. Something like Legends of Slots or a quick crafting sim respects the fact that you might close it after ninety seconds. You never lose progress, you never feel mid-thought.
Long commutes are where RPGs and strategy games shine. Emberfall Chronicle and Tidewatch Command both want a chunk of your attention and reward it, and both have pause or auto-save systems that handle interruptions gracefully.
Then there's mood. Sometimes you want the adrenaline of Neon Dash Circuit, sometimes you want to wander quietly through Hollow Pine Trail before bed. Keeping two or three games across different genres on your phone means you're always covered.
