Hollow Pine Trail

Hollow Pine Trail is a quiet adventure game that trusts you to wander. You hike through a misty forest, sketch your own map, and slowly piece together what happened to the people who lived there. There's no combat and no timer, just atmosphere and curiosity.

The tap-to-move and swipe-to-look controls are gentle and never fiddly, and the muted art style means it runs beautifully on just about anything. Battery drain is light thanks to the calm visuals, and there's a reading mode that dims the screen for the text-heavy stretches.

It won't be for everyone, people who want action will bounce off it, but as a wind-down game before bed it's lovely. I finished it over a few evenings and thought about it afterwards.
